Local 54 to hold Family Day on Trump Taj Mahal Picket Line

On Saturday, children and families of striking Trump Taj Mahal workers will join strikers on the picket line to call on the company to agree to a fair contract with 1,000 cooks, bartenders, housekeepers, cocktail servers and other service workers.
WHAT: Family Day Protest at Trump Taj Mahal.

WHERE: Atlantic City Boardwalk at the Taj Mahal (Pennsylvania and the Boardwalk)
VISUALS: In addition to strikers and their children walking the picket lines, there will be face painting, arts and crafts, balloons and other child friendly activities.
Background: About 1,000 Trump Taj Mahal workers have been on strike since July 1 after contract negotiations broke down. In October 2014, a bankruptcy court judge stripped workers of their health insurance, cut pay and increased workloads.
On Thursday, workers at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City agreed to a new 4 year contract that provides health insurance for the workers. The Tropicana is controlled by the same New York billionaire.
